Inti-Illimani
Inti-Illimani are a Chilean folk music ensemble whose name means 'Sun of the Golden Eagle' in Aymara, known for blending Latin American roots with a wide musical palette.
Origins
Formed in 1967 by university students, they gained popularity in Chile and were touring Europe during the 1973 coup, after which they could not return home as their music was banned under the Pinochet junta.

Their instrumental and vocal music is rooted in Andean and Latin American forms; in European exile it took on a multifarious character, incorporating European baroque and other traditions into a fusion of modern world music.
