Mana
Maná is a Mexican pop rock band and the most successful Latin American band of all time, with over 45 million records sold. They are icons of rock en español.
Origins
The band began in 1981 as Sombrero Verde, renamed itself Maná in 1986, and released its breakthrough with a lineup led by vocalist-guitarist Fher Olvera and drummer Alex González.
The sound
Their music is melodic pop rock with reggae, ska, and Latin influences, built on anthemic choruses and socially aware, romantic lyrics.
Legacy
With four Grammys, eight Latin Grammys, and the best-selling Spanish-language rock album ever in ¿Dónde Jugarán Los Niños?, Maná stands among the most decorated and influential acts in Latin music.
Signature song
Rayando el Sol
“Rayando el Sol” is one of their signature songs, an early anthem that helped define the band's emotive rock sound.
